Giti Pasand beats Vietnamese futsal rival
The Iranian representative at the AFC Club Futsal Championship, Sanaye Giti Pasand, enjoyed an easy win in its opening match against a Vietnamese team.
Iranian champions Sanaye Giti Pasand demolished Vietnamese debutant Thai Son Nam 8-0 in their first match of the AFC Club Futsal Championship on Sunday, Mehr News Agency reported.
The Iranian club has been placed in the first group of the championship with Thai Son Nam from Vietnam, Al Rayyan from Qatar and Yarmouk SC from the hosts Kuwait.
Also on Sunday, the hosts' club was defeated by Qatar 5-3.
On Monday, Iran will take on Qatar's Al Rayyan.
In 2010, Iran's Foolad Mahan won the title of the first edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship.
In 2011, the Iranian club Shahid Mansouri stood second at the second edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship in Qatar, after losing to Nagoya Oceans of Japan.
The 2012 AFC Futsal Club Championship is the 3rd AFC Futsal Club Championship held in Kuwait City, Kuwait between July 1 and July 6, 2012.
